Waiting For Me

She was so special; she was unique

She was the strong one; I was the weak

She made me happy when I was sad

She was the good one; I was the bad

I didn't care when late for a date

I knew she'd be there, I knew she would wait

Waiting for me, always waiting for me

She'd be waiting for me, always waiting for me.

She was so special; she was the best

So why did I treat her worse than the rest?

Other girls meant nothing at all

Except to my ego whenever they'd call

I'd disappear for a day or three

She knew I'd be back; she'd be waiting for me

She didn't want money; she didn't want fame

I never asked if she wanted my name

I was so arrogant, so immature

She'd never leave me, I was so sure

Whatever I did I was certain she'd be

Forever beside me or waiting for me

Too late I realised she wanted respect

But all I had offered was constant neglect

One day I came back but she wasn't there

I searched and I wallowed in my deep despair.

She wasn't waiting for me; no longer waiting for me

Not waiting for me; not waiting for me
