Heat Exhaustion

Note

Heat Exhaustion is a Medical Emergency, if the person becomes unconscious or has a seizure Call an Ambulance Immediately

Remember to drink 8 to 12 cups of water every day

Signs and Symptoms of Heat Exhaustion

  • Feeling dizzy or faint
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Sweating
  • Cold clammy skin
  • Pale or flushed face
  • Headache
  • Muscle cramps

Treatment

  • Put the person in a cool area, in the shade or in air conditioning
  • Remove unnecessary clothing
  • If possible give a cool sponge bath
  • If the patient is able to drink, give water
  • Seek medical assistance
