In the early evening,

As the sun begins to yawn

My son and I kneel

to give thanks for this day

"Where is God?" he asks,

"Does he listen to my prayer?"

"Does he watch me all day long?

"Is he big and strong like daddy?

A quiet moment to form my thoughts,

As my heart bursts with pride

A child of five is reaching out

To learn the teachings of our Lord

Proud and humble I take his hands

Share a smile, and bow my head

"You are a child of God," I say

"And He listens to all your prayers"

"God is everywhere, as God is all."

"God is Life, Love, and Spirit.

and is with us day and night."

"God is our Light and our Salvation

of whom shall we fear, my dear?”
