WHAT CAN I SAY AGAINST DISDAIN.

What can I say against disdain?
What can I say to win your trust?
Will nothing reach your cold, proud heart?
If nothing can, then nothing must.
Nothing in silence I shall say
Until he begs of me to speak.
In silence I shall turn away,
And starve his pride till it grows weak,
Until in time he turns to me,
Forgetting all his vanity.
Ah, God, if only I could be
As cold and hard and proud as he.
