all about what I could squeeze from you

The philosopher said love was all about how I feel

and the feeling fades after the high

The expert said love depends on what you do

and when you fail I should leave
but I found that love grew

after I decided to give

despite how I felt

when I was packing my bags to go
and this love isn’t much

but a little is all we’ve got

and a little is better than nothing

a small step forward

is better than sitting

where we’ve always been
